CheckMySpeed.org is built with privacy as a core principle. Unlike many speed testing services, we do not collect, store, analyze, or share any information about you or your internet connection.

What Information We Collect

None. We do not collect any personal information, usage data, IP addresses, location data, or test results.

How the Speed Test Works

Our speed test operates entirely within your web browser (client-side). When you run a test:

• Your browser downloads test files directly from public CDNs (Content Delivery Networks)
• All calculations are performed locally on your device
• Test results are displayed only to you and are not transmitted anywhere
• No data about your test is sent to our servers or any third party

Cookies and Tracking

We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics services, or any other tracking technologies. There are no third-party scripts that collect data about your visit or behavior.

Third-Party Services

Our speed test uses publicly available CDN resources for testing purposes:

• CDN Resources: Test files are downloaded from public CDNs like Cloudflare and others. These requests are standard HTTP requests and are not different from visiting any other website. We have no control over these CDN providers' logging practices.
• Font Services: We use Google Fonts to load custom fonts. These requests follow Google's privacy policy.

Server Logs

Our web hosting provider may maintain standard server logs that record basic information such as IP addresses, timestamps, and requested pages. These logs are used solely for technical maintenance and security purposes and are not analyzed for tracking or marketing purposes.

Data Storage

We do not maintain any databases. There is no backend infrastructure that stores user data, test results, or session information.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect any data, there's nothing for you to access, modify, or delete. You have complete control over your privacy simply by using our service.

Children's Privacy

Our service does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected, our service is inherently safe for users of all ages.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

If we make any changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Given our commitment to zero data collection, any changes are unlikely to affect your privacy.

Open Source Transparency

Our code is open source, allowing anyone to verify our privacy claims by inspecting the source code. We encourage technical users to review our implementation.
